Omega-3 fatty acids are in either fresh wild caught fish or in different types of seaweeds. Omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and Omega-6 fatty acids are pro-inflammatory. In a typical dog or cat’s diet today, the ratio is about 1:40 (one Omega-3 fatty acid to 40 Omega-6 fatty acids) which is actually a pro-inflammatory diet.
